Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These terms apply to the Vault desktop app, its public profile service and this website (together, "Vault"). By installing or using Vault you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Vault.
1. The service
Vault is free. It reads data from game platforms and services you connect, and shows it in one place. Features may change, break or be removed at any time, often because a platform changes its API. We may stop offering Vault, or any part of it, at any time.
2. Not affiliated
Vault is an independent project. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Valve, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft, Epic Games, Twitch, Google, Spotify, Discord, or the RPCS3 or shadPS4 projects. All trademarks, game titles and artwork belong to their owners and are shown only to identify your games.
3. Your accounts on other platforms
You connect your own accounts and you are responsible for them. Using Vault with a platform is also subject to that platform's terms. Some connections (for example PlayStation via an NPSSO token) use interfaces the platform does not officially support for third-party apps; you use them at your own risk. Keep your sign-in tokens private and don't share them with anyone.
4. Public profiles
A public profile is optional and visible to anyone with the link. If you create one:
- Choose a handle and display name that don't impersonate anyone, infringe anyone's rights, or contain hate, harassment, sexual content or illegal material.
- You are responsible for what your profile shows. You give us permission to store and display it for as long as the profile exists.
- Don't use the service to spam, scrape, overload or attack it, or to get around its rate limits.
- We may remove a handle or profile that breaks these terms, or for any reason needed to keep the service running, without notice.
- Your profile key is the only proof that the profile is yours. If you lose it, we can't recover the profile for you.
You can delete your profile at any time from the Profile page in Vault.
5. Emulators and game files
Vault can read data from emulators installed on your PC. Vault does not provide games, firmware, BIOS files or keys, and you must only use game copies and files you have the right to use. Manual trophy unlocks change local emulator data only and are your responsibility.
6. Acceptable use
Don't reverse engineer Vault to extract its API credentials, don't use our proxy or social servers for anything other than running Vault, and don't use Vault to break any law or another service's terms.
7. Privacy
How Vault handles data is described in the Privacy Policy.
8. No warranty
Vault is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Playtime, achievement, price and other data may be incomplete or wrong. Back up anything you care about.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, accounts or profits, arising from your use of Vault. Because Vault is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to zero, or the lowest amount the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Vault after a change, you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
